Peru is one of the countries with the largest number of birds recorded in the world between other species and with several alternatives for birding and wildlife expeditions.

Northern Peru Hummingbird Route: The main objective of this birding expedition is to observe approximately 50 hummingbirds, among them the Marvelous Spatuletail (Loddigesia mirabilis), a species endemic to Peru and recognized as one of the most beautiful in the world.

Endemic birds of northern Peru: This route offers the possibility to observe and experience a great diversity of landscapes and birds of Peru, especially the endemic ones, such as: Koepcke’s Hermit (Phaethornis koepckeae), Marvelous Spatuletail (Loddigesia mirabilis), Long-whiskered Owlet (Xenoglaux loweryi), Ochre-fronted Antpitta (Grallaricula ochraceifrons) and Little Inca-Finch (Incaspiza watkinsi). We can observe up to 600 species, 24 of which are endemic.

Scarlet-banded Barbet and Cordillera Azul Antbird: This expedition stands out for the priority search of two very particular endemic birds, the Scarlet-banded Barbet (Capito wallacei) and Cordillera Azul Antbird (Myrmoderus eowilsoni). Both bird species have great interest to the birdwatcher market, due to their rarity and difficulty of observation; in addition, in the case of the Scarlet-banded Barbet, and it is the cover image of the book “Birds of Peru”.

Alto Mayo Wildlife: The Alto Mayo Valley is composed of the provinces of Moyobamba and Rioja, in the region of San Martin, being one of the most impressive jungle landscapes of Peru that has a great diversity of ecosystems and wildlife. This wildlife expedition is ideal for nature lovers and amateur photographers.
