ASOCIATION
The Ikam Conservation and Development Association aims to promote the development of sustainable solutions to conserve biodiversity, as well as to increase economic and social opportunities for local populations linked to these areas.
The main areas of work are: Conservation and restoration of biodiversity, development of sustainable productive and tourism activities, scientific and social research that contributes to evidence-based decision making, empowerment of communities, communities and other entities involved in biodiversity conservation.
Birding for conservation
This is an environmental education program that focuses on birdwatching, which is one way to link citizens with nature in a fun and functional way. The target audience is the local population and authorities linked to important areas for the conservation of biodiversity.
Strengthening of conservation enterprises
This program aims to contribute to the environmental, social and economic development of enterprises that promote the conservation of biological diversity. To date, there are collaboration agreements with enterprises that are part of the Northern Peruvian Bird Route. Collaboration actions are related to technical assistance for monitoring wildlife species, improving tourism services, improving the production of agricultural products, among other actions.
Morro de Calzada Amazon Center
The project consists of implementing a center for the development of research activities, wildlife observation, environmental education, recreation, reforestation and other related activities that reinforce the conservation objectives of the Conservation and Recovery Zone – ZoCRE Morro de Calzada.
